Das Gleichgewicht des Universums nähren

On the one hand, who are we microscopic beings to think we can affect something as vast and incomprehensible as the universe – in which we are so tiny as to be inconsequential, and perhaps pushed off the face of the earth? as easily as a snake can shed its skin?

On the other hand, our evolutionary destiny as aspects of the Infinite Unspeakable Intelligence lies in realizing our oneness: understanding that there is no “other” and that as such, whatever we do for or for another, we do only ours or our own Even.

Then, in the same way that all of nature performs its function perfectly—predator and prey maintaining balance in their populations; bees and birds pollinate and multiply; propagation and care of fruits and flowers; Floods and droughts and fires circling through the seasons – this is how humanity can fulfill its Dharma. And while one might argue that Dharma cannot help but be fulfilled, at this moment in history the impulse and need for greater harmony cannot be denied.

The task is clear – there is no more time for self-indulgence. Knowing that harmony cannot be imposed from without but must manifest from within, it then falls to each of us to illuminate our individual cell in the body of humanity by cultivating consciousness and embodying love. For all the pursuit of sustainability and equality, however well motivated or intentional, cannot succeed as long as greed is the dominant force on the planet. And greed will not be overcome until understanding of oneness reaches a critical mass.

So this is our job: to understand and encourage the need to shed the false identities that have enabled those in power to divide and conquer; and to promote the recognition that the suffering of all is the suffering of all; and to create a global movement and proclaim our unity around the world.
